Tale from the world of the market
this story occurred in December 1997. It was a bull economy at the time. Heck, back then one couldn't find an ulcer to acquire with... Well anyway, while i was launching off with 1461 bucks at Trading USA the entire session went better than i could possibly want. I was told that Singapore Dollar rates will be affected by the gain in the import of domestic products, and accordingly is going to mount. This tip swore to me the scheme of a big unloading at that time will work like a charm! Recalling the info i had been to apply, i bought 100 mini lots. I held off for a long wait, as the stop loss limit slowly closed in on me, untill middle-of-the-road variation began to turned took notice. 5 minutes later this bastard of a base currency was rising through the roof! I sold at 75 percent of loss! So i was getting quite worried about my misserable predicament. So much for the thought that SGD-BBD rate will be affected by the fluctuations in the paper exports, and as a result will come down. I just given up 100 mini lots one way or the other. But next thing i know the account sold at 201 pips of profit! Wow, now that was a real surprise! Well what do you know! I had made some green this evening and i do admit, that i was feeling just fine. Time to hit the sack.
